Genesis 39:2-3

And
the LORD was with Joseph,
and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3
And his master saw that
the LORD was with him,
and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.
Genesis 42:28 28 And he said
unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo,
it is even in my sack: and
their heart failed them, and
they were afraid, saying one to another,
What
is this
that God hath done unto us?
There is a great contrast between Joseph and his brothers.
Genesis 39.2-3 notes that God was with
Joseph in a way that others could see.
Joseph exhibited godly integrity throughout all of his adversities to the
point that those that were around him could see God in him and in his work.
On the other hand Joseph’s brother’s having been in
Hence the contrast challenges us to consider, who is God to
us? Is God the sovereign over all
things who can be trusted in every possible circumstance?
Or is God the villain of our lives, robbing us of good, afflicting our
lives, and robbing us of our luxuries?
I see in Joseph the godly integrity I desire for myself so that I might
say that I count it all joy when I fall into divers temptations, because my
Heavenly Father is truly at work in my life (James 1.2-3).
